Video games have been a staple for generations. From Pong to Pac-man, Tetris to Call of duty, it comes in all different forms for anyone to enjoy. Through its popularity, many companies have since been created as main catalysts and vessels to produce such games. Many big brands such as Bethesda and Activision have had a very strong hold on the gaming community for a long time… enter EA
EA (Electronic Arts) is a company that was founded in 1982 by a William M. Hawkins and has a very acclaimed backlog of popular franchises such as Battlefield, Sims and Mass Effect. Through these games, EA has firmly solidified itself among the greats, however as time has gone on a glaring problem has been made apparent and has been a growing issue for quite some time for the community… transactions
Every game has transactions, but none have it as much as EA. From basic cosmetics to different versions of popular games, EA uses every possible avenue to milk wallets dry of money… and this is upsetting fans. Fans have made this glaringly clear… however there seems to be no stopping them.
Trends like these have had a negative effect on the community as other companies have now followed suit with incredibly overcharged prices for their games and other exclusive content. It truly brings the spotlight on EA and whether or not they will change
